A BIG STEP FORWARD
IN MERCHANDISING HAS BEEN MADE BY THE
LEADING FOOD MERCHANTS
OF THE NORTH SANTIAM CANYON
“A Penny Saved is a Penny Earned.” Old as this saying is, it still holds true, and many of our cus-
turners have told us that they would prefer to pay cash for their food supplies if they could buy at
lower prices and save money......... So after weeks of thoughtful and careful consideration we have
come to the conclusion that the EVERY DAY LOW PRICE CASH POLICY’ of selling merchandise
is the practical and economical plan for our customers, and have therefore decided that on July 25th
all the undersigned merchants will change to a strictly cash policy by eliminating all losses created by
charge accounts. The savings made by operating on a cash basis is a tremendous amount and these
savings are going to be passed on to our customers.

merchandise that will meet the strictest competition EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK.
BEGINNING JULY 25, 1949
PRICES ON EACH AND EVERY ITEM WILL BE REDUCED TO THE
LOWEST POSSIBLE LEVEL
Consumers will trade at these stores, willingly, because their dollars will buy foods at lower prices— t
and the lower prices will continue every day of the week. The low price cash policy will be in ’
effect July 25th and if you have any problem of finances we suggest that you personally contact your
/
store manager.
We sincerely thank you for your patronage in the past and we feel
