A very pretty wedding was held at
the hoe of Mr. and Mrs. Frank White
when their eldest daughter, Leila
Mae. became the bride of Gerald Rock
well, son of Mrs. Nellie Dahlenberg,
on Saturday afternoon, July 9. The
Bev. Willard Buckner officiated. At­
tending were about 40 relatives and
friends.
The bride wore a teal blue floor
length gown, and carried a bouquet
of rweet peas and pink rosebuds, with
•ink and whit« ribbon streamers.
Her only attendant was her sister,
■ary Ellen White, who wore a blue
and pink suit. Lester Luke, nephew
etf the bridegroom, acted as best man.
Aladean McDonald sang “ I Love
You Truly,” accompanied by Leon­
ard Smith who also played the wed­
ding march. Mrs. White chose for her
daughter’s wedding a grey suit, and
Mrs. Dahlenberg was atired in mar­
oon. Following the ceremony, cake
and punch were served to about 40.
After a short wedding trip the couple
will make their home in Mehama. He
ia employed at Etzel mill.

the close of the meeting a pot luck
supper was served by the losing side
in a contest which had been conclud­
ed.
Mrs. Mike Schwindt was hostess
for the meeting of the Altar Society
at her home. Plans wese made for
a bazaar which will be held in the
middle of August on the church pre­
mises. Present were Mrs. Clarence
Jungwirth, Mrs. Pat Lyons, Mrs. Wai
ter Hilton, Mrs. Franci sjungwirth,
Mrs. Bob Free. Mrs. Doc Jungwirth,
Mrs. Lloyd Free, Mrs. Lu Doerfler,
Mrs. Herman Free, Mrs. Philip Piet-
rok and Mrs. Schwindt.
Installation of officers was held at

M. and Mrs. Meirod Reiser of Sub­
limity have completed their new res­
taurant and held their opening Sat­
urday night in LyonB. The restaurant
is a much needed addition to Lyons
because there is no other eating
place there. It will be a great benefit
to mill workers and to travelers.
Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Gunn and
Dickie of Oakland, Calif., visited re­
latives in Lyons last week. Mrs. Gunn
will be rememberer as Leona Lyons,
former resident here and niece of Pat
Lyons, Bert Lyons and Mrs. Amos
Hiatt.
Mrs. Floyd Bassett and son Cecil
spent the week end in Klamath Falls
as guests at the home of her sister.
Several Boy Scouts left on Sunday
for Camp Pioneer. They will be gone
for a week. Those going were Donald
Olmstead,
Bill
Morgan, Harvey
Grimes, Richard Baltzer, Floyd and
Ronald Lengacher.
Mrs. Clara Brown and Stanley
Brown Jr. of Salem visited at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ring
Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Trask
of Albany also were guests at the
Ring home.
Mrs. Catherine Engdahl of Salem
spent several days with relatives in
Lyons.
Mrs. Footer of Portland was a Sun­
day guest at the home of her sister
and husband. Mr. and Mrs. James
Kimcry.
Charlie Berry of Walker, Minn., is
visiting at the home of his brother,
Georg Berry, and family. He will also
visit another brother, Grover Berry,
of Mill City.
Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Kinzer visited
over tlhe week end at the home of
their daughter, Mrs. Fred Jungwirth
and family of Coquille.
A church reception was held at the
community clubhouse Friday evening
'honoring the Rev. and Mrs. O. A.
Jewell, the new minister at the Me­
thodist Church.

played a piano solo and Mrs. Robert 1
Fetherston sang two numbers.

day evening after spending three
weeks at Billings, Mont., with rela-
tives.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Beaver of Mo- 1
desta, Calif., were guests at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. George Huffman.
Mrs. Huffman, with the Beavers, vis­
ited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George
Hubbard of Eugene.
Mr. and Mrs. Dick Power and son-
of Glendale, Calif., are visiting at
the home of his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. W. W. Power, and brother
Chailes and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Trace Prichard, Port­
land, were Sunray guests at the
home of Mr. and Mis. William Prich­
ard.
Loffee Hiatt of Seattle visited the
last of the week with relatives here.
He is a nephew of Elmer and Amos
Hiatt.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Allen left Sat-
urday afteinoon for Paulina Lake on
a two weeks’ vacation.

Leola Ray Barklow of Coquille is
visiting at the home of her grand­
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lewis.
Several from the Lyons Methodist
Church attended the Sunday school
convention in Mill City Sunday, July
10.
Mr. and Mrs. George Keeley of
Portland visited at the home of her
mother, Mrs. Alice Huber, Saturday-
evening and Sunday.
Visiting at the Clyde Lewis home
is Mrs. Ted Bode and daughter Jean
of Seattle. Mrs. Bode is a cousin of
Mrs. Lewis.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Farrell of San
Francisco are visiting at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Roye. Mrs.
Roye, with the Farrells, was to leave
last week on a vacation tip through
Montana into Canada. They will visit
Banff and Lake Louise.
Week end guests at the Alex Bo-
deker were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hamp­
ton and little son Douglas, of Eugene
and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Johnson
of Portland.
Elmer Hiatt is quite ill at his home
with pneumonia.

ring at the home of his grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Oral Toland.
Cheryl and Marilyn Lewis of Sil­
verton visited at the home of their
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Le­
wis.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Huber are the
parents of a baby girl bom at Salem
Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Huber and
baby were brought home last week.
Mrs. John Jungwirth is on crutches
after a fall down the basement steps.
Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Midili of Salem
■visited relatives in Lyons Sunday.
