reelected president of the Western
Forest Industries Assn, at its annual
meeting in Corvallis Saturday.
The organization opposed the pio-
posal of U. S. Sen. Clinton P. Ander­
son (D-N.Mex.) to regulate the cut­
ting of timber on private land; asked
revision of mining laws to prevent
filing of mining claims for the pur­
pose of acquiring federal timber; and
urged construction of more access
roads into federal forests.

Darrel Jones returned from Idaho

ents in Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Jones
met him at Corvallis.
Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Kurtti and
children of Portland arrived Sunday-
evening. Mr. Kurtii is an iron worker
and works for H. O. Montag.
Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Long went to
visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H.
Wesner of Odell Lake last week end.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Snyder are
leaving Friday for Dallas. Mr. Snyder
who is a stove repair man plans to
return next year.
George Price and Charles King
of Salem have been at the court about
two months. They aie working on the
housing project for C. B. I.
Mr. ami Mrs. C. V Sullenberger
and Walt Wescott went fishing on
the North Fork and caught the limit.
The Sullenbergers purchased a new
car this week.

Torrence, Calif., moved into the court
Saturday. Mr. Dickerson is a struc­
tural steel worker and is employed
by H. O. Montag Co. on the tower
line.
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne McBride, Joy
and Martha of Los Angeles are new
residents of Mill City. Mr. McBride
is a welder for the Shea Construction
Co. Over the week end the family
had a picnic at Silver Creekk Flails.
Bud Howard, Army Engineers em­
ployee, was injured Wednesday when
a drill rig started to fall and he
tried to throw it out of gear, catch­
ing his wrist. He suffeder lacerations
on his arm and shoulder, and his
wrist watch was ripped off.
The Howards have lived in Mill
City since September, coming from
Boise, Idaho.
Barbaia Sexton, of Boise, a sister
off Mrs. Howard, is visiting them.
Mr. and Mrs. H. C. McElvain of
Portland came to Mill iCty in April.
Mr. McElvain is a shovel operator
for CBI. Mis. McElvain attended the

and Mr. McElvain went in for the
