Loren Clark, five year old Idanha
boy, was rushed by ambulance to St.
Charles Hospital in Bend after he
swallowed a needle. Word had not
reached Idanha this week on the out­
come of an emergency operation per­
formed there. Mr. and M.S. Clark of
Idanha, his parents, are fr. Bend with
the boy.

TO DISTRICT MEETING
About 30 attended a district meet­
ing of the Lions Club here last week.
Represented were Stayton, Salem,
West Salem and Silverton.
The meeting was conducted by Jun­
ior Eckley, zone chairman of West
Salem. Dinner was served by me.m-
bers of the Presbyteriap Church re­
creation building committee. A quar­
tette, Mrs. Don Sheythe, Mrs. D. B.
The Idanha Legion Auxiliary will Hill, Mis. I*e Ross and Mrs. Robert,

Mill City and other Canyon com­
munities will be represented Friday
in Aumsville at the organization of
a new schedule of the Santiam Val­
ley Basketball League. Town teams
from Sublimity, Turner, Aumsville,
Stayton, Detroit and Mill City will
lx- represented.
Ken Chance, business manager of
tlie local Rockets, and Joe Lalack are
planning to attend the Aumevill meet
ing. Play will Mart after the first of
the year.
On the Mill City squad are Lalack,
Ronnie Johnson, Lee Manning, Jim
Hennebeck and Don Carey. The lat­
ter is a University of Oregon star,
at odds with the school athletic de­
partment this year.
