Gross proceeds were about $450,
a total which, the club felt, was a
good return for all the work. The
community as a whole helped to make
the affair a success, and the aid was
greatly appreciated by the club.
After the business meeting * ri I

Monday, The business meeting was
conducted by Mrs. Raymond Sophy,
president. As it was Education Week
Mrs Sophy had asked Mr. Joe Wright
■to give a report on the library and
give a book review.
Many families are enjoying the
library which now contains 350 vol
umes. The library had been open two
days a week since the first of June,
but the space donated had to be used
by the owners so the books had to
be packed up.
Now the Women’s Civic Club plans
to build a small building as soon as
land can be secured and a little more
money raise for the project.
The
building will be put on skids so that
it can be moved to the new townsite
when the time comes.
The book reviewed was ‘‘The Cleft
Rock,” by Alice Tisdale Hobart, con
cerning water problems of Central
Vrlley in California.
The sixth grade won the prize for
attendance of the most parents. A
very interesting technicolor film, ‘‘Hu
man Growth,” was shown by Otis
