Will You do it? When?
The people of Columbia county
Washington territory are show
ing considerable enterprise in
joining together, and selecting a
number of their ablest writers to
write up a pamphlet, setting
forth the resources and advan
tages of that section for home
seekers, to be printed with illus
trations. It is time that Yamhill
county was moving in the same
direction. We ought to prepare
a pamphlet, setting forth the ex
tent of our region, population,
agricultural and grazing lands,
water-power, natural resources of
every kind; railroads, schools,
churches,societies, health, weath
er und climate reports, newspa
pers, business agencies, etc., and
supply them to incoming immi
grants, to induce them to look
here for (hemselves, when they
will certainly find better locations
for the price asked them then in
any other county in Oregon. It
seem» to us that this movement
should obtain the support of
every business man, farmer,
merchant and laboring man who
felt an interest in his own future
prosperity.
McMinnville College Notes.
NEW TO-DAY.
Now that pleasant weather has
come, it seems very hard to the
ordinary student to be confined
in the school room.
Prof. Crawfor went to Port
land o’’ 'as' Thursday. His du
ties in t c school room were per
formed bv Mr. J. F. Clark.
Miss Ollie Brown, a former
student, visited the school Mon
day.
Mr. Eldon Antrim, who at
tended school during the winter,
is going to teach in Poll county.
Mr. Jas. Shank is another
who goes to swell the list of stu
dents who have qui* school.
The boys now have a good
stock of ball bats, which they
received a few days ago. The
good weather gives them a good
chance to practice.

well attended last Saturday even
