have her gowns made by Worth, the
fashionable Paris tailor. Her jewelry
is nald to be worth $2,000,000. Queen
Ranavalona was taken from Madagas
car at 2 o’clock one February morning
In 1897, after six hours' notice to get
ready. She and her two uncles had
been detected In a plot to overthrow the
French, who have been in Madagascar
for two centuries. The men were exe
cuted. while the queen was deported to
Bourbon Island, and later to Algeria.
