When the e cretorv organa fail to carry off the waste material fiom the system, there is an abnor
mal accumulation of effete matter which ja,isons and clogs the blood, and it becomes sour aqd acid.
This poison is carried through the general circulation to all parts of the body, and upon reaching
the skin surface there is a redness ami eruption, and bv certain peculiarities we recoguize Eczema,
Tetter, Acne, Salt Rheum, Psoriasis, Erysipelas atul many other skin trouble., more or less severe.
Whih the skin is the seat of irritation, the real disease is in the blood Medicated lotions and
powders may allay the itching and burning, but never cure, no matter how long and faithfully
continued, and the condition is often aggravated and skin permanently injured by their use.
The disease is more man skin deep: the entire circulation is poisoned.
The many preparations of arsenic, mercury, potash, etc., not only do not cure skin diseases, but soon ruin the digestion
•nd break down the constitution.
.
S. S. S., nature's own remedy, made of roots, herbs and barks, of great purifying and tonical properties, quickly and
effectually cures blood and skin troubles, because it goes direct to the root of the disease and stimulates and restores normal,
healthv action to the different organs, cleanses and eurr lies the blood, and thus relieves the system of all poisonous secretions.
S. S. is. cures permanently because it leaves none of the original poison to referment in the blood and cause a fresh attack.
Healthy blood is necessary to preserve that clear, smooth skin and beautiful com
plexion so much desired by all. S. S. S. can be relied upon with certainty to keep
the blood in perfect order. It has been curing blood and skin diseases for half a cen
tury ; no other medicine can show such a record.
S. S. S. contains no poisonous minerals — is purely vegetable and harmless.
Our medical department is in charge of physicians of large experience in treating
blood and skin diseases, who will take pleasure in aiding by their advice and direction all
who desire it. Write fully and freely about your case ; your letters are held in strictest
confidence. We make no charge whatever for this service. Our book on Blood and
Skin Diseases will be sent free upon application.

Simon Harrison Humphreys, son of
the late Thomas D. Humphreys, of Hills
boro, was on Tuesday morning found
hanging dead to a tre< in the old brick
yard southeast of that citv by Mrs.
George Schultnerich, about 8 o'clock.
Humphreys left his home the evening
before and was last seen going down the
railroad track about 8 o’clock, p. iu . Up
on his failure to return at a late hour, a
searching party was organized, and
search instituted, which resulted in the
body being found as stated. The jury
returned a verdict of suicide. The cause
of his committing the deed is supposed
to be discouragement over debt. Humph
reys was justice of the peace for a num
ber of years, and was also engaged in the
abstract business. He leaves a wife and
six children. He was a member in good
standing in the local lodge, I O. O. F.,
and the United Artisans, carrying (2000
insurance in the latter order. The fu
neral arrangements have not yet been
made. He was 49 years old, and a
brother-in-law of J. W. Gault of this
city, who attended the burial on Wed
nesday.
The other case was that of Ulrich Pi
per, a young man residing with his par
ents near Farmington, who committed
suicide by shooting himself in the left
tetnple with a revolver. Piper was an
unmarried man, about 25 years of age,
and has been ill for over three years with
a hopeless malady, and finally deter
mined to end his misery by taking his
own life. The fatal shot was fired at 8
o’clock p. m., and death ensued three
hours later. The coroner held an in
quest.
To the mountains our j>eople in in
creasing numbers yearly look for those
days of relaxation and recreation neces
sary to maintain the human machine
in fair working condition. The languor

seductive while it lasts, but many have
decided that the annual outing should
provide not only radical change of air
and surroundings, but also such stimu
lation of flagging energies as will provide
brawn and vigor for the return to labor.
