I LOCAL NEWS. LOCAL DIRECTORY A new line nt tobacco and cigars just received at Bettman & Warren’s. Asa McKern of North Yamhill was in the county seat on Friday, the tjrst time since hie removal to our neighbor on the north. He is doing well in the racket store trade. The bodies of American soldiers no« buried at Manila are to brought home soon, it is said, at government expense There will be eent a reliable undertaker and assistants, with suitable caskets pro vided by the government, who will upon arrival at Manila, under the direction of the chief quartermaster at that point, disinter the remains of deceased oiricers and soldiers and send them by the first returning transport to this country. The most expert undertakers ami assistants possible to obtain have been secured to accomplish this object with the least de lay practicable.
