painful accident Monday evening. He
was sitting before the fireplace beating
a kettle of water, and by some means
the kettle was overturned, pouring the
contention his feet, and badly scalding
them. We are glad to note he is bet­
ter........... L. D. Millkey was a prize win­
ner at the recent state poultry show at
Portland on his barred Plymouth Rock
chicks. Mr. Mulkey has some very fine
birds and he is justly proud of them, in
the exhibit he took 1st and 2d place on
the pullet, and 2d on cockrel and 3rd on
pen, only losing first place by seven-
twelths of a point................. Those from
Amity who expect to sail on the next
steamer for the Klondike gold fields are

Cooper and B. Chaney. They leave here
Monday morning for Portland to get their
outfits. J. W. Roth will accompany them
as far as Portland to assist in getting
their outfits. The steamer sails Tues­
day evening at eighto’clock. The Times
joins with their many friends in wishing
