When your stomach begins to trouble
you, It needs help. The help it needs, is
to digest your food, and, until it gets it,
you won’t have any peace. Stomach
trouble is very distressing, very obsti
nate, very dangerous. Many of the most
dangerous diseases begin with simple in
digestion. The reason is that indigestion
(not digestion, not nourishment) weak
ens the system and allows disease germs
to attack it. The antidote is Shaker Di
gestive Cordial, strengthening, nourish
ing, curative. It cures indigestion and
renews strength and health. It does
this by strengthening the stomach, by
helping it to digest your food. It
nourishes you. Shaker Digestive Cor

It is evident from varying results and
experiences, that hopgrowing in the. Will
amette valley is among the crude arts.
A great many hops were injured or
rained by mold and lice this season, not
withstanding considerable effort, by the I
usual method of spraying, to prevent it. j
Too much reliance, possibly, has been
placed upon spraying. Mr. Frank Miller 1
of the firm of Miller Bros., says they have
a forty-acre yard that has not been
sprayed at all this season, in which the
hope are absolutely clean and free from !
lice. Asked for the secret of this by a
representative of The Reporter, Mr. Mil
ler said it was all due to proper trellie-
ing. They employed sufficient help dur
ing the growing season to see that the
vines were properly treliised and not al- i
lowed to bunch. It is in the dense foli
age where the vines cling together that
mold and lice are bred. Another thing <
be said, this yard was thoroughly
“sheeped,” that ia, sheep were run
among the vine* and nipped off all tbe
lower foliage and sucker*. A gentleman I
from Silverton told ns tbe growers in
that vicinity bad adopted the practice of
pruning, thinning out tbe dense foli
