< hi R eporter Sí e w To-Day FROST AND THE CROPS. MoMINimLLZ, OREGON, SETT 87,1883. iCPFOBT TOHA LOCAL JOXIBNAI.. From quite all of the middle and northwestern state» comes the tele graphic report of an early black frost and a consequent reduction in the vol ume of the later crops and vegetables. In piany instances the ruin has been complete. It is stated that these states have experienced a low average temperature, which retarded the ripen ing process, especially of corn, and for this reason the damage by the frost has been greatly augmented- Here in the northwest we experience notluug of this misfortune. It is a misfortune, and one far-reaching to the farmer, since any material reduction in the cereal crops in the east means a dimin ished income to him. The fact that the frost does injure our crops is a strong inducement for the emigration of the eastern farmer. Millinery! Millinery! Misses Russ I Foster BUM! BUM! BUM!
