The house of lords of England in the rejection of the home rule bill is as much a useless legislative body as the United States senate is proving itself to be ou the silver question. Tlie sena tors should be responsible to the people of tills country for election, not to a small body of men tliat is as easy cor rupted as the legislatures of the several states. Tliat tlie legislatures are sub ject to corruption is evidenced by the large number of political shysters and money bags that now adorn one of tlie principal law making bodies of this re public. If the members of tlie senate were re sponsible to the voters there would be little of this monkey work with this great question tliat affects every indi vidual Amercan citizen. Talk at this time is a waste of American prosperity. A vote is wanted by the people. This unrest’must be settled.
