We, the undersigned pupils of Mrs. Evenden, request and insist that she accept for herself, instead of applying to any other benefit, the proceeds of the concert given by herself and pu pils. This demand is made as a token of our gratitude for her kindness to us Individually, of our appreciation of her untiring interest in our advancement, and of affection for her personally. A Happy Throng Expresa Approval of Cleveland nod Stevenson's Election. The report of Superintendent Row land, of the state insane asylum, for the month of October, was considered Mon day. Tlie report shows that on Sep- temlier 30th there were 798 patients— 556 males, 242 females. Received dur ing October, 12 males, 6 females. There were discharged as recovered, 8 males, 3 females; discharged as improved, 4 males, 4 females; discharged as not im proved, 1 male,3 females; died, 5 males, 2 females; eloped, 3 males; number of patients remaining October 31st, 784— 548 males, 236 females; number of off! cers and employes, 87. The monthly expense of the asylum per capita was $10.38 8-10, daily expense per capita 33 5-10 cents. The superintendent re ports progress on the brick structures now being built on the asylum grounds they now being ready for roofing. The workingmauship seems to be good. The architect and contractor promise that two wards of the infirmary will be pushed to a speedy completion, and for their use some purchases are already being made. The steward of the insti- tion reports that at the hospital farm ten acres have lieen plowed and sowed to cheat for hay and that twelve acres of potatoes have been harvested. These were purchased in the ground on How ell prairie at 30c and tlie yield was 675 bushels. At the cottage farm 110 acres were plowed and sowed to winter oats and fifty acres to wheat; forty-five acres of potatoes and six acres of beets were dug, .550 cords of wood cut, and much other work done. At the asy lum and on tlie farm during the month as shown by the report of tlie commis sary, 14,089 ¡»ounds of beef were con sumed, bacon, 238 pounds; butter, 955; coffee, 847; chiccory, 135; fish 3,047; pork, 2,161 (home product); sugar, 3000 pounds; eggs, 432 dozen, milk 1,645 gallons; tobacco, 282 pounds and 74 packages of soap, 678 pounds.
