There are some men who are always hit at every remark a news paper makes, if it conies within a mile of them. The Seattle Press, in speaking of the unnecessary numberof clerks employed by the legislature at Olvmpia. says that one clerk drew $500 for attending three committee meetings; another has drawn nearly $600 for no more work; several have drawn $35 a week through out the session who could not intelli gently take notes of the proceedings of a committee or decently write out a re port of the committee's action.
