Did it ever occur to the Repub lican voters of McMinnville that Brutscher will get almost every vote at Lafayette. T. J. Harris has been sheriff one term and it is nothing but right i I to re-elect him. It. L. Harris for county clerk is a strong man. He is very active and popular and the young voters i will generally support him. What did R. R. Laughlin do in the last legislature, for his county or state? He consented to losing one senator and one representative in the re-apportionment. Geo. W. Belt, for district attor ney is a candidate for re-election and he is well known in Yamhill county. Let every citizen vote for an experienced officer, instead of taking up some new man. Tho Republican party at one time was proud of its record as a great party of moral ideas. Its or gan the Reporter—now delights in ridiculing candidates who happen to be men of religious convictions or church members. Dr. G. II. Smith, of Amity is the next coroner of Yamhill county. Capt. Fellows is a very clever gon- tleman but really does not have any use for tln.t office. The place should be tilled by a physician, instead of a furniture man. If the laboring men of Yamhill county vote for Laughlin and Derby, they vote for the re-election of Mr. Dolph—the millionaire sena tor. Dolph would not so much as look at a poor man—except to get his vote. The Reporter says tnat it is “reported that the Democrats will open their meeting to-night with a prayer meeting.” This is another back door fling at the Baptist church in this city and county and Prof. .Selph in particular. C. G. Scott is a safe, conservative, 'business man, and will make a II. S. Maloney for county survey- reliablo commissioner. Vote for er is the right man in the right him instead of Brutscher. place. E. Selph, one of the Dem ocratic nominees for the legislature, because he is an honest faithful and conscientious member of the Raptist church. These same gentlemem are crying out “Oh.
