WEST SIDE TELEPHONE
A mitt , Oct. 4, 1886.
E d . T klkpiione :—Your bumble ser
vant is one of those unfortunates, who,
when visiting the metropolis of Yamhill
has to pass over the celebrated 11 street,
and it seems to me that the city dads of
your thriving little / ity would remove
such an obstacle. It is considerably the
worst road in the county, and wholly
unsafe for a person not carrying a lite or
accident policy to pass over it after
night. A hack lo-id from this place
went down to attend the ball Saturday
night and when returning picked them
selves up out of the ditch which adjoins
B street, wholly from the fearful condi
tions of the street. Though no damage
was done it was but a chance, for the
hack turning over and spilling out six
persons on those boulders appears that
it was better luck than management that
all got off safely: but so be it. And
now, Mr. Editor, drum away at your
commissioners and see if you can’t do
something to save your city from a heavy
damage suit in the near future; for
somebody passing over this Rocky Road
of Yamhill is liable to get hint.
