From the number present and the enthusiasm manifested, the club will undoubtedly be an effective agent in politics, and particularly in the present contest. The permanent officers of the organization will be elected at the next meeting on Monday evening, Sep tember 17th. when the campaign will be regularly opened by speeches from Dr. Watts and others. Among Jhe many items of business transacted, I will only mention farther that A. R. Burbank, H. Hurley and J. W.
