The p lu m b e r took a fine sa w out of his tool bag and s a w e d a pipe in two ju st as rf it w ere wood. Right then som ething clicked for Betsy. T h a t old iron bed in the attic! It could be cut down. It w as cut down, a s shown in the sketch. The top of this bed is padded w ith cotton b a s te d to m uslin. B etsy used an old c o m fo rte r for padding.
