A 1935 lumber production ¡neioasc
for Oregon and Washington of ’i t
per cent above 1931 is indicated in
preliminary data collected by the
Pacific northwest forest experiment
station in cooperation with the l >.
bureau o f the census, the forest ser­
vice announces this week. The cut
of lumber for 1935 in the two states
is shown to be <»,599.237.099 board
fc*-t as against 5.it3.9li.non board feet
rut in 1934. In 1932 the cut reached
a depression low o f 3.8iil.5KI.itto feet,
it is pointed out.
Of lumber rut in 1935. Washington
produced 3.459,951.000 hoard feet and
Oregon 3,139,2Kfi,000, according to the
experiment station report. Douglas
fir led among species cut with a
total o f 4,570.821,000 board feel, of
which Washington produced -.717.-
390.000 feet and Oregon I.K53.13l.n00
feet. Ponderosa pine took second
rank among species produced, with
flreg.in cutting 1.024,017,000 feet and
Washington 2KI.452.000.
