If the weather remains warm, a rec­
ord crowd of mid-Columbla people. It
la antieipatad, will be present at Ko­
berg Beach next Bunday, when mem­
bers of the Oregon Volunteer Lifts Sav­
ing Corpa "and the “Red Devils”, from
the Portland natatorium, will visit the
beach and give exhibitions of fancy
diving and swimming. Swimming races
will be a feature of the day.
Hood River baa a number of llceuaed
Red Cross life savers and an organised
life saving unit. The members of this
organisation will participate in the
water carnival.
Koberg Beach, located on the Colum­
bia, Just east of her« on a cove formed
by Stanley rock, huge basalt promon­
tory that juts out from the Oregon
shore, Is declared by visltora to be one
of tiie tMJst fresh water beaches on the
Pacific coast. Johu Koberg, the owner,
has constructed a large pavilion over­
looking the beach, and bath bouaea are
adequate for a large crowd. During
the recent hot weather those who like
swimming have journeyed to the iteacli
from all mld-Col umbia points.

sideration of the promised change of
schedule of rates tor I rathe over the
Hood River-White Salmon bridge. The
bridge company proposes a special rate
for trucks and busses over the bridge,
engaged in carrying freight and pasa-
enger* to and from steamboats dock­
ing at a wharf on the WaHhington aide
of the bridge.

urday afternoon to Capt. C. A. Schetky,
who had fn-uuently visited the kxlge
and told of hl* experience* in visiting
lodges In nearly every country of the
world.
H. O. KroMe, master of the lodge,
ha* naked that all Masons assemble at
the lodge room* at 4 o'clock Saturday
afternoon. In order that they may at­
tend the funeral services of Captain
Schetky In a body.
Antlers Park Praised
A. L. Mallory, ex-president of the
Oregon State Editorial Association and
publisher of the Tillamook Headlight,
in a recent Issue of bis publication paya
a high compliment to the Antlers auto
park, operated by Mrs. Fred Rand and
sons Jnat west of the dty. Mr. Mal-
lery, who with bis family made a tour
of central and eastern Oregon, while
on their way ,to and from the I a
Grande American Legion convention,
declared the Antlers park the best he
visited.
Mr. Mallery had high praise for the
Mount Hood loop highway.
