“Shop talk” and dinner marked a
meeting of publishers of the Rich Spot
group of Oregon weekly newspaiiers
held at McMinnville on Saturday night
with Sheldon M. Sackett and 11 B.
Cartlidge of the McMinnville Telephone-
Register as hosts.
Exchange of information on office
and shop practices and plans for united
activity in attracting "foreign” adver­
tisers to the pages of Oregon's leading
weekly ¡tapers kept the editors busy
until mldnigfjt.
The six outstanding weekly news­
paper h of the Oregon country compose
the Rich Spot group. They are the
McMinnville • Telephone-Register, the
Polk County Itemlxer-Observer, the Til­
lamook Herald, the Hood River Glacier,
the Vancouver, Wash., Clark County
Sun and the Washington County News-
Times.
Papers in tills Rich Spot gronp have
won attention throughout the news­
paper world for the modern and pro­
gressive methods they employ and for
the per teflon they have attained tn
such technical matters as make-up,
