Cecil Miller's residence was ran-
sacked recently and some valuable
loot carried away. Alec Miller states
that It was the boldest outrage ever
perpetrated on the mountain.

pated in an enjoyable picnic given un­

as a printer in Meresse's employ. The
latter persuaded the man to give up
the gun. The county sheriff, prose­
cuting attorney and the local offi<-ials
are receiving congratulations over the
outcome of the Buck creek affair.
This man ha« not yet been appre­
hended.

The Bridge of the Goda over the Co­
lumbia river at Stevenson will soon

the Union Bridge Co., of Portland.
The amount of the contract ia not
known.
The structure will be 20 feet wide
except in the center, where plans call
for a width of 40 feet and appropri­

steel construction. Work will be under
way within six weeks and the bridge

paving on Caecade Avenue in the
