Constitution week id being cele­
brated at a number of meetinga here

school. At the meeting of the Tues­
day Lunch club at the Columbia
Gorge hotel Ned Baldwin, secretary
to BepreaentatiVe N. J. Sinnott, de­
livered a stirring addreaa on the con­
stitution. Mr.* Baldwin, formerly a
member of the staff of the office of
the United Staton district attorney in
Portland and a lewder in Oregon Re­
publican political circles, -has for a
number of years made a study of the
constitution.
Ijist night J. H. Ija»lett and W.
Lair Thompson, of Portland addressed
the Masonic lodg» on “The Constitu­
tion."
This evening Judge Robert R. But­
ler, of The Dalles, will deliver an
addreM at a public meeting to be
held under auspices of the Odd Fel­
lows lodge.
Sunday every minister of the city
devoted a part of the day's services
to an emphasis of the rights of Amer­
ican citizens umler the cOMtitutio«. «
The Oregon State Bar Association
is behind the movement In Oregon,
and J. U. Hazlett is in charge of the
observation of the; week here.
