Mrs. Haxlev, who has worked in the Fargo library, has just completed a two-year library course at the Uni versity of Wisconsin. She was secured through Mrs. A. G. Lewis who former ly resided in rargo. Mrs. Haxley, according to plans an nounced, will devote a major portion of her time to extension work in rural communities. The flood waters have been getting higher each day and encroaching upon the gardens. A con servative estimate of the loss to truck gardeners has been placed at $25,000. , One of the main features of enter tainmei.t of the Fourth of July cele bration to be held at White Salmon this year under the auspices of the American legion will be a bit? parade. At a joint meeting of the various Fourth of July committees Friday evening it waa decided to commence the day'a program with the parade. Geo. L. Willey was named as chairman of the parade committee and has prom ised to stage one of the biggest and best parades ever assembled in White Salmon, if proper support is given him.
