CASTNER NOT FOR SPECIAL SESSION To call a special session of the legis lature fur ratification of the woman suffrage amendment, in the opinion i.f Mrs. thas. H. Castner, president i t the Oregon State Federation of Wom en Clubs, will ue playing with tire. Mrs Castner aavs : "Oriirinallv 1 favored cettirnr the legislators together for this turi.se. but when so many of them reserve the right to take up other matters, in case of an etxra session, it now seems to me that we had better allow the mat ter to rest. We might get the legisla tors at Salem and have difficulty in calling an adjournment. From the outlook, it is difficult to tell just what kind of a jumble might lie brought on. U the necessity arises lor action on the part of our legislature for ratifica tion, 1 believe the body could tie called together for that purpose, and every citizen of the state w ill use his inrlu ence in bringing about such action. But at present it behooves us to let well enough alone.
