Kratn fr.;in the head of the firm, an
nouncinK that he is now en route to
America for a tour of all fruit dis

Noik Monday. lie will reach the
Northwest aiiotit September 1. It is
likely that his visit will result in the
expansion of Northwestern branches,
accordinir to Mr. Woolpert.
The London conccin is already the
heaviest huyt r of Northwestern boxed
apples this year, and has established
permai ent receiving stations here and

that more than Ihh.imiii boxes of fruit
have heen bought. A deal was closed
last week for the purchase of 10,000
boxes from an Hast Side grower at an
average of about $-.1') per box.
The best price for a pre harvest sale
of Mi l Columbia apples is reported by
.1. K. Slade, whose orchard at Husum,
Wash., will yield an estimated 12,000
boxes of high class fruit. Mr. Slade
has sold to the Northwestern Fruit
Fxchanye for an average of approxi
mately if-.'M per box. Several con
cerns were dickering with Mr. Slade
; for his crop, and a deal with H I'hila

chant, w ho owns mi extensive orchard
property near I'aikdale, has arrived
here to spend a vacation of several
wet ks. Mr. I.oomis, who expresses
optimism over the 1 V 1 1 deal, declares
that lie has never seen the crop of the
Hood Uiver Valley indicating better
quality at this season of the year. All
other box districts, he says, will pro

Mr. I .ootids expects his own I'pper
