Bishop Paddock Praises Soldiers
Bishop R. L. Paddock, of the eastern
Oregon diocese of the episcopal church,
just back from Camp Lewis, where he
spent several weeks addressing the
men, has unlimited praise for the offlc
ers and enlisted men of the big canton
ment. He praised the work that 4s
being done by the Y. M. C. A., Y. W
C. A. and kindred organizations.

of us can dare complain when we are
asked to contribute to these patriotic

Track Crashes Into Auto .
When Walter Forry last Thursday
left his big truck for a moment on Oak
street, the front wheels turned into
the curb, the machine for some unac
countable reason ran away a short dis
tance down the steep grade of the
street and crashed into the rear of the
automobile of Steven F. JSby. rural
carrier. The rear of the latter machine
was crushed in and the headlight of
Mr. Forry s truck smashed.
It is thought that the steering wheel
of the truck might have been tampered
