hundred persons, including men of
prominence from Maryland, Vir;;ir.ia.

cago, Washington and Baltimore were

Mr. Stewart had equipped los or

guests could inspect them, and this
feature added great pleasure to the
otherwise unique event. The function
commenced at 8 o'clorck. A luncheon
prepared by the camp chef and his
assistants was served in the me.-sroom
on the lower floor of the camp build
ing, with accomodations for inure than
200 diners. Following the repast there
were numerous and witty as well as
practical toasts by the guests.

BUYS MOSIER TRACT
One of the largest land dials in
Mosier Lands was put through last
week by Geo. Chamberlain for the
Kast Hood River Land Company. Ihe
Kast Hood River Land Company has
been working the last four years de
veloping orchard property, ihe one
tract they spent the most money on in
developing was a tract of land that
belonged to the Moaier iamny. u lies
on the high land just east of town. It
contains 152 acres, of which 120 acres
set in commercial orchard with trees
ranging from one to four years old.
They took a great amount of care to
get this tract into orchard in the best
possible shape. It is all lenow isew-
towns and Spitzenbergs.
The purchasers are the niosicr De
velopment Company, a I'ortland Cor
poration, with ample capital to com
plete the development ot tins tract.
It is not given out how much was paid
for the tract, but it is supposed to have
been in the neighborhood of $75,(HMI.
This may look big to some of the old
timerH here who used to use tne nne
apple land of Mosier as a cattle range.
