Airheart last Thursday evening was .such that the interest of the audience was intense from beginning to end and the line seemed all too short. Because of the fact that the lecture and Jsclmol enter tainment were set for Thursday and Friday nights respectively, the attend ance on Thursday evening was much smaller than should have greeted a speaker of such ability. The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. English was very ill last Friday. During the day the little one had three convulsions. l)r. Dutro was called and attenued him and he improved rapidly. Derangements of the digestive organs resulted in so serious, though short, an illness. Fred Crockett came home from Rupert, Idaho, Wednesday of last week and expects to be at home sm n near the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. I'. Kemp. Mr. and Mrs. VV. L. Sheirhon are expected home this week. They have spent the winter at their old home in Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Ferguson are here and work has been done prepara tory to the building of their tine home. Last week the house in which they now reside was moved as the new home is to occupy the site on which the old home stood. The: lirst car of lumber for this tine residence was unloaded at Summit the (irsl of this week. A recital will be given by the pupils of Mrs. Marguerite Walter in the church at Odell next Saturday evening. We feel that we can safely assure all who attend that they will be pleasant ly entertained and that they will by their presence encourage those who are making a study of the art of expres sion. Mrs. Mary Loekwood who has been spending the winter in Santa Rosa, California, will arrive this week and spend the summer with her son, Wm. Hannah, on Odell Heights. The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. I. U. I.atl'erty has been ill of lung trouble. We hope the little one may soon regain ids usual good health. A horse, ridden by J. J. Krumen acher Saturday night anil tied near the 1. 0. O. F. Hall, got away and was not found until Sunday evening. Dur ing the time of search rumors of a horse thief floated about hut the horse was found only a short distance away and had evidently found himself untied and walked away. All are glad he was found arid that there was no great loss though the horse had received some injury from barbed wire. Elmer Lafl'erty will visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. d. W. Lall'erty. Elmer was recently ill but is now regaining health. Clinton Wood left Long Reach, Calif., late last week homeward bound. Mrs. Wood, Clinton's mother, will remain in California until .lunc, when she expects to return home. Hildred Crockett continues to im prove arid expects soon to accompany her sister, Mrs. W. P. Kemp, when Mrs. Kemp returns to her home in Odell. Cutler l!ro. and their sister, Miss Lucy Cutler, are home from spending the winter in the East. Walter Bradley went to Portland last week and returned with his wife and two children to their home in Odell. Norman Bradley and family expect soon to be in the Weber house lately vacated by J. S. Lester. The entertainment given by Odell school last Friday night was a grand success from every point of view. Each one taking part was evidently the one for the place and a very larc.e audience enjoyed every moment of the evening's program. Everyone connect ed with any portion of the program either as pupil or instructor deserves great credit for the manner in which all parts moved toward a sucessful rendering. A number of people have made early garden, and no doubt are wishing it was now ready to use. OAK GROVE After nearly a year of almost contin uous drilling, the Nichols well is about completed. It has been one of the most tedious jobs which the Apple Land and Orchard Co. has undertaken. For the pas' several months there has been a night as well as a day force at work and it is now hoped that there will be a goodly supply of water.
