Prof. Paul L. Vogt, of the Washing
ton State College, at Pullman, has
been here for the past week making a
study of the co-operative selling meth
ods of the fruit growers of the Hood
River valley. Prof. Vogt is in the
Economics department and has been
investigating the co-operative methods
of agricultural, communities through
the northwest. He says that the Mooa
River Apple Growers Union is the best

cently returned from a horseback trip
into the central Uregon country anu
believes that there is a great future
ahead of that territory. He spent
much time here investigating the
methods of the union, gathering statis
tics on the prices received by union
and independent shippers and getting
the figures on the holdings and size of
the orchards of various land owners in
the valley.
Prof. Vogt was formerly in tne gov
