sections that grow it. Twenty -one

land. In 1886 some 200 orates were
shipped to Montana, Utah and (Joloi
ado. Tbe big returns gave an im
petus to tbe mdusrty and tbe next

2000 orates, and would nave beeu

set. However, in a year or two Hood
River oeaced to count crates, but
reckoued its shipments by so many
oarloda a day. The strawberry proved
tbe making of Hood River, (or it fur

for ber orobards, and it advertised
her all over the northwest.
