A mass meeting was held at Cottage
Orove last week to discuss piping wat
er from Lang Creek to that city, a
dUtanoe of 18 miles, with a fall of
1000 feet. Ex -Senator R. M. Veatob
presided, with H. O. Thompson as
secretary. Mayor B. R. Job opened
the 'meeting. Speeches were made by
different citizens. The City Council

engineer at once to make an estimate

Inquiry of almost every newspaper

it being a physical impossibility fur
the secretary of tbe board of trade to
write personal letteis to more tban a

We believe tbe emergency may be
met by supplying oopies ot tbe oounty
papers to inquirers, and while the
expeusesJwotilJ be tritlng it would en
courage tbe thiee papers to oontinue
efforts which so far bave been a mat
