The berry pickers are very much
dinappoloted not enough berries ri

thankful for. No tornadoes in this

Work seems to be at a standstill for
men In the valley, judging by the

Mr. Robert Jones' bouse Is having

it is done It will be very oozy and

Tbe following notice of a cyclone is
taken from tbe Pioneer, published at
Lexington, Nebraska.
Kebraftka.
"Last Wednesday evening a small
cyclone passed over a portion of
Dawson county and did some dam
age. At the farm occupied by H. L.
Foreman, tbe deadly tail of the cloud
dropped down and enveloped in It
swirl tbe barn of Mr. Foreman, which
waa In a moment lifted In tbe air and
rended asunder and tbe fragments
oarried for hundreds of yard east
ward, the dlreotion the storm war
traveling. In the barn were two
horses. Tbey were oarried aoros two
wire fenoes, one being dropped a hun
dred yards from where tbe barn stood
and tbe other two hundred yards, In
to an alfalfa Held, botb animals heiog
uninjured. Two sbepard puppies
were also in tbe barn. Tbey were
found four bund' ed yaids distant in
tbe debris uninjured.
"A milk bouse and smoke house
standing a few yards west of tbe
dwelling house were seized by the
sinuous tail and converted luto kindl
ing wood In tbe milk house wbs a
cream separator. It was fo'ind in tbe
altalfa Held about four hundred yards
away. Between the milk house and
tbe smoke house stood souther out
building. It was not touched.
"An iron oooklug stove or range
standing on tbe premises near toe
bouse was oarried for two hundred
yards and dopped n the alfalfa.
About fifty ohioKens and some pig
eons that were in the barn were
killed, and a windmill and tower torn
to piooes.
"The dwelling house, fotunately,
was not touohed by tbe twister aud
was not Injured, except that a few
boards were wrenohed from a small
abed at Its rear. During the preval
enoe of tbe storm Mr. Foreman and
family occupied a cellar or cave near
tbe house and all escaped injury.
"Two men, were driving aloug toe
road as tbe storm approaobed and
turned In to secure shelter in tbe
barn. Just as they reached tbe gate
tbe swirling tail struok tbe premises.
Botb were prostrated, Mr. Reynolds
being severely Injured r.y being struok
by a flying plank. Tbe wagon box
waa oarried away and after tbe storm
tbe horses were found a few hundred
yards distant attached to tbe running
gears."
