Six ounoes rock candy, melted into
a thick syrup, juloe of three lemons,
one-half dram oil of tar, one-half
ounce glycerine. Keep In the bouse

mourn bis loss The deceased was
well known here, coming here several
years ago with P. S. Dxvldsnn, Sr.,
from Wisconsin, where be beld posi

fourteen years, and continued in tbeir
employ until they sold tbeir lumber
Interests to tbe Oregon Lumber Co.,

The leap year party given bj
twenty-two young ladies of Hood
River at the opera bouse Friday
evening was a very enjoyable affair.
The ladies deco: ated tbe ball very
artistically and the usually bare ap
peal anc of tbe ball was obanged to
a very pretty, homelike plaoe, witb
ouriained windows, oozy corners,
mirrors and festoons of green. Tbe
stage wss fitted up with tables, wbere

a bank of pine boughs. There were
nearly 100 guests in attendance and
