At present he in engaged in running
the survey for the new road from l'iue
l''lat. This road will shorten the dis
tance from that section from two to
three miles, and will provo of very
great convenience to tho people of

Water Spoilt on Mill Creek.
Sunday afternoon about :i o'clock a
water spout played, havoo with two
fruit orchards up Mill creek, about
seven miles from The Dulles, says the
Chronicle. Tho water came down the

creek. Hail lay on the ground about
three inches deep aftor the storm.
There wero about five inches of water
in tho residences of Mr. Miguet ami

Mill creek for a number of yoars, but
this in her Mrst experience of a water
spout, in that vicinity. She says the
road is badly washed out, ami the
damage to her orchard nnd that of Mr.
