About The Hood River glacier. (Hood River, Or.) 1889-1933 | View Entire Issue (Jan. 2, 1903)
;?eo;dj Iiver Slacier. FRIDAY, JANUARY 2, 1903. Our Population 1091. The Glacier has made its annual count of the population of Hood River and finds 1001. One year ago the number was 801. . This count may be disap pointing to some who have guessed that it would be much larger. By looking over the list of names published last year we find that 23 families and 38 single persons have moved from the city during the year. If these 23 families averaged four persona to the family (and some of them were good-sized families), the total loss, with the 88 single persons added, would he I3K, showing a totai gain for the year of 305. This is the fourth tonsecutive year the Glacier has counted' our population: January 1, l'.KJO, the town had tSL2. Following is a list of heads of families and single per sons employed in the city Jan. 1, 11)04: Adams Harry, barkeep for Ilay ward. Arnold 8 W, contractor and builder. AbbQtt H M, merchant.
