They are the wires used in supplying East Portland with its com mercial lights. Those wires were not used until 4:20 when thu current was turned on, and this probably uccounts for the fact no accident had occurred earlier in the day. Pel-ham was a young man of good habits and had no family aside from several brothers and his mother, who live in East Portland.
