to attend Mr. Mowbry, tho sawyer In
the mill there, who was Injured acci
dentally. The smoke stuck of the mill
fell, striking Mowbry on the back and
shoulders and throwing him on to a
pile of IuiiiIht. His race was cut In
two or three places and his left leg
broken below the kneo. Fortunately
tho smoke stack fell on a stump, other
wise Mowbry would have been killed
Instantly. 1 1 was a close call, but time
will cure all damages.

Every stockholder In the Hood Kiver
Water Company should be at the ar
mory promptly at u o'clock next Sat
urday, as there will be Important busi
ness. The organization, of the com
pany will be iH-rfectcd and its ouieers
elected. This will be tho last meeting
or mo stockholders for some timo, and
will put the company In shape to ac
complish something. Tho selection
ami survey of a route will be made at
once, and then w ork will lie pushed as

Hallowe'en was kept In tho good
old-fashioned way oy the young folks
Monday night. Those same ludicrous
and soul-rendering humorosltics, cab
bage heads, w ere left at tho doors of uu
ollending citizens. Closets were upset
and gates and jokers unhung In a man
ner really pathetic. Old boxes, barrels,
broken wagons and all such wero util
ized in one grand aggregation of wit
and humor entirely new when Jared
and Metluisaleh wero kids. It was
just too awfully funny for anything.
A Medley.
The ladies w ill give an entertain
ment at the Armory, Friday evening
November 11th. There will be twelve
stands presided over by twelve ladies,
dressed to represent tho months, and
at each stand will be sold the eatables j
appropriate to the month represented.
