Miss Etta McKay is reported very low
and there is little hope of her recovery.
There can be no doubt but that the ease
is diphtheria. Precautious have been
taken to prevent tlie spread of the dis
ease, and it is thought this lias been
uccomplislicd.
During the session of the Oregon
Press Association several hours will be
ripen tut that delightful seaside resort,
ticarliart Park, and the manager of
Oearliart Park hotel will not only en
tertain, but also cater to the wants of
the Inner mini during the stay of the
association at tlie seaside.
Rev. T. L. Eliot complains that some
person, or persons, has been taking the
window sasli from his house on the old
Price place. One or more sashes were
taken lust week, tlio person probably
thinking the house wus abandoned.
The proper thing to do would be to re
turn the sash, and no questions will be
usked.
Miss Carrie Graham, who has been
spending her vacation at home, re
turned to Chicago and her duties in the
school room Monday morning, being
Mccompauied by her aunt, Mrs. Toste
vine. She will have an interesting1
story to tell her eastern friends in the
account of her trip to the summit of
Mt. Hood, und we hope will come
again next summer.

the old company disbanded, and re
cently two guns were shipped to them
by a member of the old company; or,
rather, tlie guns were thrown in the
express car and sent to Portland.where
by persistent inquiry they were found.

following note, which explains itself,
was found:
