their wedding trip to Los An
geles, Calif., and now live on
Vilas Road, Mcdford. The bride
is the former Miss Donna Jean
Johnson, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Claude W. Johnson, 2612
Howard Avenue.
The bridegroom is a son of
Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Simmons,
noule 2, Box 183E, Mcdford.
The ceremony was performed
by Mr. Jack Willcuts In Friends
Church November 16 at 2 o'clock
in the afternoon.
Given In marriage by her
father the bride wore a full
length Chantilly lace gown with
elbow length veil. She carried
a bouquet of white roses cen
tered with a white orchid.

party Tuesday, December 17, at
the Girls Community uun start
ing with a dinner at 6 p.m.
All players and their husbands
or wives are invited to attend.

bridesmaids. Vicltl Hurt, another
cousin, was the flower girl and
Michael Johnson, a nephew of
the bride, carried the rings.
1 he attendants wore frocks or
chiffon and lace in green, yel
low and coral pastel shades with
matching shoes. Their bouquets
were of white carnations.
Elwin Simmons, a brother of
the bridegroom, was best man
and ushers were LeRoy John
son, a brother of the bride, and
Vale Womelsdorf, Central Point,
the bridegroom's cousin.

matched the attendant's gowns.
Mrs. Cliff Aldridge and Mcl-

Some 200 guests witnessed the
ceremony, among them grand
parents of the bride, Mr. and
Mrs. Howard Mather and Mr.
and Mrs. Don Johnson, and the
bridegroom's grandmother, Mrs.
Millie Johnson.
The reception given by the
bride's parents was held in Hie
church reception hall. In charge
were Mrs. Mary I.angslon and
Mrs. Carroll Johnson. Mrs. Ray
Johnson had charge of the guest
book. At the reception table
were Mrs. Leslie Croucher. an
aunt of the bride and Mrs.
Wayne Jones, who served the
cake; Mrs. Womelsdorf, who
poured the punch and Mrs. Al
Hooker, aunt of the bridegroom.

table were Miss Mama Rur
tcau and Miss Kluine Johnson,
a cousin of the bridegroom.

and reception the bride's moth

groom's mother chose a boigp
brocade suit. Both wore pink
rosebud corsages.
While on their honeymoon
trip the couple were guests of
the bridegroom's aunt and un
cle, Mr. and Mrs. Dovle Ren-
olds. Los Angeles.
The bride is a HXil graduate
of Crater High School and is

Harry De Jarnett, Pioneer
Road, Phoenix were honored
at a dinner December 8 at Oak
Knoll Country Club, Ashland,
in observance of the couple's
fortcith wedding anniversary.
The event was given by rela
tives of the couple.
Attending were Mr. and Mrs.
Ralph De Jarrett, Brookings
and Mr. and Mrs. Otto De jar
nett, Mcdford, brothers and sis
ters - in - law of Mr. De Jar
nett; Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Cole
man, a brother and sister - in -law
of Mrs. De Jarnett; Mr.
and Mrs. Neil Arant and Mr.
and Mrs. Richard McGuire, her
nieces, all of Mcdford; and Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Jones, Yreka,
Calif. Mr. Jones Is a nephew of
Mrs. De Jarnett.
The couple was married in
McJford and they obtained their
marriage license in Jackson
ville, location of the Jackson
County Courthouse at that time.
They have lived in the area
since that lime and have been
at Phoenix for about 10 years.
Mr. De Jarnett is employed at
Kogap Lumber Company.

Election, Party
The December meeting of
Crater Lake Chapter, Daugh
ters of the American Revolu
tion, will be a Christmas party
Saturday, December 21, at the
Girls Community Club.
Members are requested to
take an antique In their posses
sion to exhibit and describe in
answer to roll call. The Rev.
David R. Brown, accompanied
by Mrs. H. E. Marsh, will sing
a group of songs appropriate to
the Christmas season. A gift
exchange will conclude the pro
gram.

elected president of the newly
organized Rogue Valley chapter
of the Delphian Society. Other

as chairman of the seminar

former Medford mayor will
show the scenes and narrate his
experiences and impressions of
culture and industry of Alba,
i Medford's Sister City.
The former mayor also will
show pictures of a trip to Rome
and other cities of Europe made
by him and his family earlier

The center knitting class will
convene next on January 1, Mrs.
Edward Barnett, instructor has
announced.
The Tuesday oil painting class
will meet December 17 to plan
work on paintings discussed by
Hal Bishop, guest instructor
last week giving lessons on
drawing and painting from life
models. Mrs. Nettie Williams,
the regular teacher of the group
served refreshments assisted
by Mrs. Laurence Heckett.
Spanish class members will
meet at 10 a.m., Wednesday,
December 18 and will decide
then when the next two meet
ings will be held, because of
conflict in dates of Christmas
and New Year's Day.
The center executive board
will meet with city council and
other officials Wednesday, De
cember 18 at 2 p.m., in the
City Council rooms instead of
meeting on Thursday afternoon
as previously scheduled. A dis
cussion will be held on the fu
ture of the center.
Shuffle board teams are tn
play Thursday morning and the
Senior Center Orchestra will
practice at 1 p.m. Last week
the orchestra played for the
Christmas party of the Ship
mates Class of the Methodist
Church and orchestra members
were dinner guests.
The contact bridge group will
play Saturday, December 21
from 1 to 4 p.m.
