If you have youngsters above
the toddling age, you'll appre
ciate some of the refinements
of this design. It provides ample
space for family activities,
group entertaining ' for both
children and parents, and also
privacy for individual family
members.
Double doors open from the
roofed front porch to. the wide
entry. Foot traffic Is efficiently
channeled to each area of the
house and yet hall space has
been kept to a minimum.
A ' dead - end ' living room
such as this one eliminates the
crisscross traffic that cuts
down the utility and furnish-
ability of so many living rooms.
A wide window at the rear of
the room looks out over the
garden while sliding glass doors
open to the roofed patio. Doors
also open from the family room
to the patio so that the patio
becomes the hub of Indoor-out
door activities.
Kitchen l.i Front
Many women prefer a kitchen
at the front of the home. They
can then overlook the main ap
proach to the home, and from
such a vantage point, they're
better able to keep in touch with
what's going on, especially
when a number of children are
on the move. This would be
particularly easy in this plan
due to the extra wide corner
windows in the nook.
The dining area is an exten
sion of the family room. It Is

Condition Belter
SAN FRANCISCO (UPD-Co-median
Bob Hope may leave
Children's Hospital today after
undergoing apparent successful
treatment for a blood clot on
his left eye.
Doctors at the hospital said
the eye ailment had responded
so well to special light treat
ment that the 60-year-old come
dian was up and active
Wednesday.
They said he planned to re
turn home to Southern Califor
nia for about a week of quiet
rest before making his sched
uled trip to entertain service
men in the Mediterranean area
during the Christmas holidays.
Women Cancel Hunger
Strike for Housing
DUBLIN (UPO Four wom
en called off their 48-hour hun
ger strike Wednesday night
when one of them collapsed
from exhaustion. They were
protesting alleged failure of the
city to provide them with living
quarters after their homes were
condemned as unsafe.
The women had barricaded
themselves in an army barracks.
much larger than the average
dining ell, and if preferred, a
full or partial wall could be
added to separate it from the
family room. A spacious storage
closet for your better china and
linens opens to the dining area.
Laundry facilities- and a
broom closet are in the service.
There is additional space for a
freezer or sewing table. A half
bath opens to the service where
it is readily accessible from this
wing of the home as well as the
garage.
The master bedroom is of un
usual size. This exciting suite
offers a compartmented bath
which has virtually all of the
convenience of two baths. The
water closet and shower are in
one area while the pullman lava
tory is located in the dressing
area along with a linen, ward
robes and a dressing table.
Study this dramatic exterior
carefully as here is a home
that looks as good as it lives.

now making the longest lasting, best han
