Truck Driver Hurt In Valley Accident
A Medford driver suffered
slight injuries and was cited
for failure to stop at the scene
of an accident after his car
struck the rear of another Fri
day afternoon on U. S. 99 at
Bear Creek Orchards, state po
lice said.
Kenneth Lcroy Jacks, 49, of
Route 4, Box 47 A, Medford, suf
fered facial lacerations after
his car ran into one driven by
Charles Lyle Kinney, 53, of 211
North Berkely Way, Medford.
The Kinney car was stopped
at the stop light at the Bear
Creek intersection at the time.
A log truck was extensively
damaged at a narrow bridge ap
proach near Prospect on Oregon
62 when it and a state highway
department dump truck collided,
police said.
A loaded log truck and trailer
was driven bv John Frank Har
den, 56, of Route 2, Box 217J,
Medfurd, and the dump truck
driven by Frank Albert Woods,
56, of Box 46, Prospect.
Harden, the log truck driver,
sprained an ankle and scratched
his left leg, state police said.

On Assault Charge
MISSOULA, Mont. (UPD
Martin S. Behner, 33, Missoula
county clerk and recorder, was
arraigned early Saturday on a
charge of assault with intent to
rape after being returned from
Baker, Ore., where he was ar
rested on a fugitive warrant.
Behner did not enter a plea
or request a preliminary hear
ing. He was being held in the
security ward of a Missoula hos
pital in lieu of $5,000 bond.
YOUTH INDICTED
OREGON CITY (UPI) - Don
ald Douglas, 21, Eagle Creek,
was indicted on a first degree
murder charge by the Clacka
mas County Grand Jury Friday.

Route 3, Box 221, Medford.

bail at the Wasco County jail
