SPOKANE (UPI)-The Wash
ington Association of Broadcast
ers Friday unanimously adopt

"increasing threats and coer
cion." Broadcasters said they took
issue with any governmental
agency which attempted to en
croach upon their freedoms to
program in the best interests
in their respective communities.
The ability of broadcasters to
carry out their responsibilities

Trial Under Way In Beating Case
HILLSBOno (UPI) - Two
youths accused of beating a
Portland physician last month
pleaded guilty to one charge and
innocent to two others Friday
in Washington County Circuit
Court.
A third youth indicted in the
mugging of Dr. Richard M. Ber
nard drew time to enter a plea.
Richard Dean Yarbrough, 20,
and Tiney Adams Jr., 19, plead
ed guilty to a charge of assault
and robbery while armed with
a dangerous weapon. They
pleaded innocent to charges of
assault with intent to kill and
larceny.
Council May Act on
Historic Declaration
VATICAN CITY (UPI) -Vatican
sources said Saturday
the Ecumenical Council may
act before the end of the cur
rent session on an historic dec
laration that Jews should not
be made scapegoats for the
crucifixion of Christ.
. The proposed declaration was
distributed to Council fathers
yesterday for study. It holds
that all mankind must share the
responsibility for the death of
Christ on the cross.
