Exhibit Opens

Mr. and Mrs. Roger Schildt were among the art patrons who attended a reception at Rogue Gallery Tuesday night
to open the current rental-sales exhibit. The program is a new one for Rogue Valley Art Association. Mrs. Schildt,
herself an artist, has two' pictures in the juried show, one being the abstract shown here. She headed the com
mittee which arranged the exhibit. .......

drals". It is in tones of warm brown providing con
trast for the completely plain background.

In a show almost completely without figures, this
clown by Marty Dawkini, entitled "The Old One"
excited comment at the opening Tuesday night at
Rogue Gallery. Mrs. Dawkins, Ashland artist, also hat
an abstract In the exhibit.

Mrs. B. Brandt Bartels (at left), president of Rogue Valley Art Association, and Mrs.
Ralph Hixson, Central Point, past presi dent of Southern Oregon Society of Artists,
discussed the new rental-sales program of the Art Association for Rogue Gallery
during a reception at the gallery Tuesday night. Mrs. Hixson has an oil painting in
the exhibit.
"Autumn Scene" by Mrs. Arlita Pletsch, Medford, was one of the works chosen by the udges for the first rental,
tales exhibit of Rogue Gallery. Mn. Pletsch Is a past president of Southern Oregon Society of Artists. Anyone
Interested In renting or buying the works of southern Oregon artists It Invited to call at the gallery -which it
open Monday through Saturday from 12 noon to 4 p.m.
