'Show-Me' Trip
Scheduled for Road
KLAMATH FALLS - Bidders
who are interested in viewing
the Meadow Creek Road cur
rently being advertised for con
struction by the Winema Forest
may take a trip over the project
on Oct. 31, it was announced to
day by Forest Supervisor Alex
Smith.
The "show-me" trip is for the
purpose of prospective bidders
viewing the project and asking
questions of the forest officials
who are familiar with the job
specifications.
Those interested in the project
should meet at 9:30 a.m. Thurs-
construction project of approxi-i
day, Oct. 31, at the junction of
Oregon 97 and the Silver Lake
Road.
The Meadow Creek Road is a
mately 7.1 miles on the Chilo
quin Ranger District advertised
recently by the regional forest
er. Bids will be opened in Port
land at 2 p.m. Nov. 7. The proj
ect is financed as part of the
Accelerated Public Works pro
gram and will provide needed
access to national forest timber
sale areas.

Three Hospitalized
After Accidents
Dwayne Victor Chapman, 17,
Route 3, Trail, and his passen
ger, David Larry Ray, 19, Pros
pect, were reported in fair con
dition with facial cuts this morn
ing at Rogue Valley Hospital
after their car struck a bridce
abutment Sunday afternoon near i
prospect.
State police said the accident
occurred near the north edge
oi prospect. An unidentified car
passed a southbound car on the
Crater Lake Highway driven by
Velda Rosaline Barr, 55, Pros
pect, and forced the north-
bound Chapman car into the ,
bridge. The Chapman car then :
hit the Barr car. !
The Barr car received minor
damage, but the Chapman car
was damaged extensively, state
police said.
John Bernard Wigcn Jr.,' 21,
of 16 Knoll Crest Drive, Ashland,
injured his ankle and suffered
bruises when his car took out
40 feet of guard rail on High
way 99 on the north slope of
the Siskiyou mountains near
Bury's Kitchen restaurant early
this morning, state police said.
He was reported in fair con
dition at Ashland Community
Hospital. His car was demol
ished, state police said.
Minnesota is 400 miles long
and 350 miles wide.

Oregon Program To Be Explained
William Ruck, director of the
Oregon Program, will speak on
"Quantity-Time-Quality in Edu
cation" at a meeting tonight of
the Medford Chapter, Nationnl
Office Management Association.
Ruck, who is with the Med
ford Public School district, will
explain some of the aspects of
the program which was made
possible by a grant from the
Ford Foundation.
The meeting will be at the
Medford Hotel with a social hour
at 6:30 p.m. followed by 7 p.m.
dinner.
