ONE TOUCH
OF LEATHER
By ROSALYN ABREVAYA
The latest decree from Paris is that leather is
"in" and U. S. designers have not been caught nap
ping. Almost every American collection has used
leather alone or combined it with some fabric
tweed, mohair, wool knit, suede, even fur.
Why designers have rushed to court leather and
why consumers are responding in kind is simple
fashion arithmetic. Improved technology in tanning,
processing, and dyeing has rendered many leather
clothes more supple, spot- and stain-resistant, and
easier to keep clean. Most of all, they fit better and
look more exciting. Three beautiful cases in point
all of grained Angola leather make practical addi
tions to any woman's wardrobe.
