British Refuse Klamath's Offer
KLAMATH FALLS (UPI) -An
offer by the Klamath County
Chamber of Commerce to soothe
the heartache of a London peli
can has been declined by British
officials.
The chamber read recently
that pelican named Paul in
St. James Park was heartbrok
en over the death of his mate.
It offered two from Klamath
lake.
However, the Ministry of Pub
lic Buildings and Works in Lon
don notified Klamath officials
that four pelicans from the es
tate of the Emir of Bwhawalpur
have arrived in London and are
making friends with Paul.
