ASHLAND -James Harold
Harker. 77, died Sunday morn
ing at his home 117 Alniond St.,
following an illness of several
months. He was born July 24,
1886 in Sloan, Iowa.
Mr. Harker moved to Ashland
from Helena, Mont., in 1927 and
during the years since had own
ed a local creamery and the
Lithia Auto court and had been
a public accountant. On Feb. 19,
1916, he married Clara Syming
ton, who survives.
Mr. Harker was a 32nd de
gree Mason with membership
in the Blue Lodge of Helena,
the consistory and the Shrine.
He was a member of Ashland
Rotary club with a 23-year per
fect attendance record. He also
belonged to the Ashland Elks
lodge.
In addition to his widow, Mr.
Harker is survived by one
daughter, Mrs. Margaret (Clif
ford) McLean; two grandchil
dren, Betty Martin and James
McLean, ail of Ashland, and
several nieces and nephews in
Denver, Colo. He was prededed
in death by a son, John, and a
daughter, Mrs. Alice Martin.
Funeral arrangements will be
announced by Litwiller Funeral
home.

(Jerry) W Hobbs, 14, of 311
Ashland ave., who died Friday,
will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday
at Perl Funeral home. Dr.
George Roseberry, pastor of
First Methodist church, will of
ficiate. Jerry was born Oct. 25, 1948,
in Medford. He attended schools
in Medford at Roosevelt, Hed
rick. and was a sophomore at
Medford High school.
He was a member of Explor
ers Scouts post of the Methodist
church, secretary of Mazama
Lodge Order of the Arrow, dele
gate to the National order of
the Arrow Conclave which was
held August, 1953 at the Univer
ity of Illinois, Champaign, 111.
He had been den chief of Den
2 Pack 3 of the Roosevelt school
for the past three years. He
participated in football and
wrestling at Hedrick Junior
High school.
Survivors include his mother
Mrs. Esther V. Hobbs; his fath
er, Charles Hobbs; both Med
ford; one brother, S t a n 1 e y
Hobbs, Paris, Tex.; one sister.
Judy Hobbs, Medford, several
aunts, uncles and cousins.
Honorary pallbearers will be
Melvin Taylor, Richard Moycr,
Dan Kadin, Dan Hawkins, Dean
Hall and Chuck Logan. Active
pallbearers will be Leo Taylor,
Bob Swindler, Johnny Webber,
Pat Patterson, George Brennen
and Bob Hawkins.

Correy, 75, of 611 South Ivy St.,
who died Saturday, will be held

at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, with the

Mrs. Correy was born in An
gus, Iowa, April 24, 1888, and
moved to Oregon in 1946. She
came to Medford in 1949. She
was the former Maude M a c
Lauderman before her marriage
June 10, 1905 at Perry, Iowa,
to William Correy, who preded
ed her in death in 1961. She
was a member of the Reorgan
ized Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter Day Saints and held the
office of historian in the local
branch.
Survivors are one son, Hartzel
R. Correy; two daughters, Mrs.
Don Kail and Mrs. Harry Spin
tig, all Medford; and two broth
ers, F. C. Tyler, Palestine,
Tex.; and Harvey Lauderman,
Dunlap, Iowa.
Pallbearers will be James
Davidson, Clifford Davidson,
Ural Donnelly, Raymond Wood
ward, Darrcll Miller, and Gary
Sahlbcrg.

Driver Arrested Everett
Edward Denny, 48, of 744 Man
