Taken any good underwater shots lately? Too tricky? Not according to Dennis Halli
nan, chief photographer at Cypress Gardens, Fla., who achieves such photos without enter
ing the water! Recently, he armed his son Timmy, 8, with a new, easy-to-operate instant
loading camera, and the two headed for an underground passage beneath the Florida
wonderland's pool. While two obliging models, Betty Jackson and Jack Helseth, showed their
diving skills, father and son stood before a 10-foot window and clicked away. (See cover

ing his camera steady, soon showed marks
of the old man. During one shooting sequence,
while Hallinan was concentrating on the
models, Timmy snapped his dad. He had
learned rule No. 1 effectively: you can get
some of your best pictures when the subject
is not aware he's "on camera."
